Justin Bieber Talks About Charity
We didn’t initially know how to use this interview, but now seems like an appropriate time. In October we caught up with Justin at We Day, a music festival hosted by Free The Children, a charity focused on children. Given the events in Haiti, we thought this would be an appropriate time to offer Justin’s views on charity.

Everbody Hurts Haiti Charity Single Starring 21 Pop Stars Originally by REM – From JK_Pro On PS3
The all-star fund-raising single for the Haiti earthquake victims has been played on radio for the first time.
More than 21 artists contributed to the cover of REM’s Everbody Hurts, including Take That, Susan Boyle and Kylie Minogue.
Pop mogul Simon Cowell hastily arranged the record, which will be available to download on 7 February.
Leona Lewis opened the track, followed by Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Cheryl Cole, Mika and Michael Buble.
Parts of the song were recorded in London, while artists – including Robbie Williams – put down their vocals in Los Angeles.
Artists such as James Morrison and Alexandra Burke sang their lines at Trevor Horn’s Sarm Studios in Notting Hill – where the original Band Aid single was recorded in 1984.
Among others whose voices can be heard on the record are Susan Boyle, Miley Cyrus, James Blunt, Jon Bon Jovi and members of Westlife and JLS.
Cowell said making the record had been “an absolute priority for us all”.
Half of the single’s proceeds will go to the Sun’s Helping Haiti fund and the rest will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
In the US, an album of artists who performed at George Clooney’s fundraising telethon, including Madonna, Jay Z, Rihanna and Mary J Blige, has been released on iTunes.

Burrel Boom Methodist School Fundraising Video
After attending a mission trip to Burrell Boom, Belize to work on the buildings at the Burrell Boom Methodist School, my daughter noticed the lack of supplies available for both the teachers and the students. She and I created this video to show to our congregation, giving them an idea of the work our church’s youth group had accomplished, showing them the children who came daily to help and worship with us, and relating to them some idea of the needs of this small school. Her efforts helped raise over $9,000 for this school; money for books, paper, writing utensils, arts and crafts supplies, curriculum for teachers, shoes and athletic equipment for the school’s athletic teams, utility bills, and most importantly, tuition money for those children who could not otherwise afford to attend. The effort to help support this school is ongoing. If you would like to help, please correspond with Rev. Charles Bagley, C/O Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church, 2803 Avenue U, Galveston, Texas 77551-5914, or charles@moody.org
