FOREVER FREE MUSIC PROJECT 2010: CLAIRE LOMAX & DAVID CAKES CANCER CHARITY FUND RAISER SONG
Cake decorating David Cakes best buddy Liverpool vocalist Claire Lomax performs her own version of Forever Free. This haunting ‘celtic woman’ style music track melody was composed and performed by David Cakes who also co-produced this version with Billy Kinsley (Liverpool Express / The Merseybeats.
When David met in 2001, he felt that Claires emotionally powerful voice was perfect to complete this version of ‘Forever Free’ that he originally wrote in 1999. In 2002 BBC Radio Merseysides Roger Phillips interviewed Claire & David Cakes about Forever Free shortly after Davids Dad Roy had sadly passed away after a long battle with Melanoma skin cancer.
In 2008, Claire herself was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer and she fought her own long battle against her illness, and she became an inspiration to us all. Claire is now in remission and together with David Cakes is determined to keep raising funds for We are Macmillan Cancer Support by promoting The Forever Free Project An opportunity that will give ALL musicians and singers anywhere on the planet the chance to showcase their talents as well as helping Charity at the same time.
David Cakes & Claire-a-bell as he affectionately calls her regularly get together to make music and present topical chat in videos which are now showing on CAKINCRAZY . Claire says ‘ Singing is my passion and I find making a video a great way to release stress, especially during me getting better. I am in remission, but I know the cancer could return. My view is now to just love life and live the dream ! ‘
David Cakes says ‘Claire is a wonderful person, who we all dearly love and her energy and passion for life after all she has been through is pure inspiration and it really makes me realise just how lucky I am to have her in my life Love ya Claire-a-bell x ‘
